Creditwrench teaches credit report facts

This is information that those who think that paying a debt to a debt collector will help them clean up their credit. It is also valuable information for those who are being forced to pay some debt that is on one’s credit report by a lender as a requisite to obtaining a loan.

Our Friday night conference call

11/25/05 Conference Call

I was a bit surprised by what happened on this call. It seemed that there were only two people on the call but when the call report came in it turns out that there were 32 people on the call tonight but they simply didn’t care to identify themselves or to speak. That’s OK too but it does make it seem as though the call is dead. Far from it. In fact, if it ever comes down to the point that nobody wants to talk about anything then I have some pre recorded audio material ready to go that will be available for replay on the call. How many people listen to the actual conference call isn’t the end of the story because there are many reasons why people might not be able to listen to or participate in the actual conference call but rather how many people listen to the podcasts over the next few years. So far that is working out to be in the hundreds of people each week. Podcasts can have a life of their own.

Creditwrench’s second video production

November 22, 2005

This is an MPG file. In otherwords, it is a video file and it is my second attempt to do videos. In some ways it is much better than my first attempt which I think wasn’t too bad at all. This one is about twice as long as the last one and therefore it is going to take some time to load even on high speed internet such as DSL.

If you are on a 56k dial up line I would advise you that it could easily take several hours for you to get it all loaded up. It will take about 10 minutes on DSL. If you try to play it before it is loaded you will think that it is “choppy” because it will play whatever you have loaded in memory and then stop playing while it loads more of the video.

That can totally ruin your outlook on the quality and value of the video but if you let it all load up before you play it there are no problems with it.

I’ve seen full Hollywood movies that would load up and play much faster than this one does although they too have to load enough of it so that the loading process is well ahead of the playing process for it to play smoothly.

The difference is that the full length professionally produced movies are using bittorrent technology and I haven’t got there yet but I will very soon. This is the first time that I have used title and other screens as well and so I’ll also have to put in the professional transitional screens between the various text based screens but that won’t be hard to do. All it takes is a bit better planning of the film than I’m doing right now.

I’m just getting the basics down now and learning how to operate the software.

Video is actually pretty new and the bugs aren’t all worked out of it yet for the amateur videographer but it is coming along very rapidly. One thing is for certain and that is that in order to produce high quality video it takes a lot of thought and planning before you ever get to the production stage in order to get it all done right.

You can’t just take a camcorder and go shoot a video and expect that it will come out looking all that good. You can use a camcorder and then take it to the “cutting room” and get rid of screens that are not all that appropriate for whatever reason. But in order to do that you have to go through the entire video screen by screen and that takes a bit of time. If you do that you also have to be able to edit the audio that goes with it and I haven’t dug into that portion of it yet as you can tell from watching this video.

Dealing with Debt collectors on the phone

A female ex-debt collector teaches how to collect debts.

November 20, 2005

There is a woman by the name of Michelle Dunn who used to be a debt collector until she got her panties sued off of her a couple of years or so ago for FDCPA violations by a consumer.

Now she writes books telling others how to get sued too. She wrote a really dumb article about how debtors are much like little children and she obviously thinks that debtors should be treated as such even though She claims differently in this article

It is an interesting read indeed.

Creditwrench Friday evening conference call

November 19, 2005

Creditwrench Logo

We held our usual Friday night conference call yesterday evening at 7:00 P.M.

It was interesting as usual and one of the interesting things that happened on the call was that someone started to play music on the call. Of course, I don’t know whether it was done intentionally or whether it was an accidental thing but that isn’t the most interesting thing about the music.

The interesting thing is that it didn’t interrupt the call for more than just a minute or so until we all figured out that we could talk over the music and it was still perfectly audible to everyone. Of course, it was still a bit of an irritation but even more importantly I could audit it all right out of the audio when I converted it to MP3 format for the podcasts and the audio recordings which you can access by clicking on the link in the left hand column of this blog.

Someone from the Los Angeles area called in and needed to find out what he might do about a summons he had received. Another of our students by the name of Anita also lives in the Los Angeles area and was on the call. She agreed to meet with the caller and give him as much help as she can. She is working on 5 cases of her own right now and although she isn’t expert at handling them yet she can give the new fellow some pointers and help with his problem. It is always good to be able to get some help from someone local you can meet up with and chat about the problems and learn from each other as well as from our lessons.

Everything went very well indeed inspite of the brief moments or so of music. A great many conference calls do get actual hecklers from time to time who are really bent on making a wreck of the call. It is comforting to know how to get rid of that kind of problems simply, quickly and easily.

I see that Sony now has a brand new free service called IVE. It is an instant video conference system that not only lets you chat with anyone using your computers and webcams but it also lets you call any phone anywhere just like Vonage does.

Other services such as Yahoo Instant Messenger, AOL, Skype and others have video conferencing but adding the ability to call others in the way Sony is doing it has some very unique features indeed.

I’ve finally got my video equipment all set up but still have some minor things to do before I can actually get the video castion going the way I want it to go. Then of course I will have to write dialogs and do the actual filming. It is entirely possible that the first video cast I manage to get done might be at our next J-accuse meeting the 1st week in December. I’m planning to do a short 10 or 15 minute video of Richard Cornforth doing a talk then.

Friday night’s conference call

November 17, 2005

Friday evening we plan to host Dan Ridenauer as a featured speaker. Dan is a nationally recognized author, public speaker and expert on credit repair. Dan will bring some entirely new concepts to the field of credit repair. He will not be talking about the garbage concepts promoted on AOC or Creditnet nor the pap stuff you commonly find on such nationally syndicated TV and radio shows such as the Suze Ormand TV show. This is going to be real solid advice that will increase your credit scores by leaps and bounds without any of the usual letter writing junk.

You will also want to buy Dan’s great book.

Listen to a preview of Dan on a conference call and I am sure you will truly be impressed.

Big problems

November 16, 2005

This Blog was destroyed by a virus or something and I’m now in the process of trying to rebuild it.

The archives are all gone so I’ll have to figure out how to get it to stop showing all of those and i’ll have links that need fixing.

If you find any links that need fixing let me know by email at ceo@creditwrench.com or by phone at 405-616-7901 and I’ll try to get it fixed.

Lots of the old posts were moved to my message board at message board
